This video is an awesome source of information and insight about PTSD - especially for
family members and friends of our returning Veterans.  As the wife of an OIF Veteran who
is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it "spoke" to me in a way that few other
video, books, or other resources on the topic have.  It's long (27 minutes), but
so worth the
time.  A special thanks to Kathie Costos, a Vietnam Veteran Wife, who is also known as the
Nam Guardian Angel (
www.namguardianangel.org) for compiling this video!

This video explains the "natural reactions to unnatural events" that cause PTSD. Made for
combat veterans, their family and friends and community leaders.  It lasts about 10 minutes.
Katie Couric discusses a new treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that may help
many veterans returning home from Iraq. (CBSNews.com) Super short! Lasts a little over
a minute.
Talking Post-Trauma Blues.  Song about PTSD.  We don't necessarily agree or disagree
with all of the views expressed, but a lot of Veterans have enjoyed this video, so we wanted
to share it!
Medicated for Your Protection.  A poem written by an OIF Veteran set to music by a
Vietnam Veteran.
The following link is to a video about PTSD that was produced by Mental Health Matters in
Almeda County , California.  It is an interview with two Veterans (one who served in
Vietnam, one who served in Iraq) about their struggles with PTSD.  It does a good job of
showing people how PTSD "looks".
One word of caution, however, the video does
contain some political/anti-war statements in the first part (the interview with the Vietnam
Veteran).  If you would like to skip this part, simply fast forward the video to the -12:25
point.
