National PTSD Awareness Day

June 27, 2011, will mark the second time our country has set aside a day to draw
nationwide awareness to post-traumatic stress disorder.  It is EXTREMELY important that
each of us do our part to help those in our "network"... family, friends, colleagues, and
acquaintances... learn about and understand
PTSD.  And NOW, in the days leading up to
National PTSD Awareness Day, you have the PERFECT "excuse" to start talking :)

Share Your Story as Part of Our PTSD Awareness Blog Project

We are publishing a series of blog stories in the week leading up to National PTSD
Awareness Day
that are all about PTSD.  If you are a veteran, a loved one, or someone
else who has been impacted by PTSD, please share your story!  You can share anything
about your experience with
PTSD... it doesn't have to be specifically about the event that
caused your post-traumatic stress disorder or anything like that.  Just share your feelings
& thoughts... the things you think people should understand about life with PTSD... help
us increase AWARENESS!!

Whatever you do, START TALKING.  It can be really tough at first, but if we each talk to 3
people... who talk to three... who talk to three... you get the picture.  But, the only way we
can start raising awareness and pulling down the stigmas associated with PTSD is to get
our "rears" in gear :)  Let us know if we can help!
