the Internet, can be a powerful experience. There is something liberating and healing that
happens when you tell other people about your experiences, successes, challenges, and
lessons learned.
It can also be extremely helpful to the many other Veterans and family members who are
currently faced with the challenge of returning to "civilian" life following combat, to hear
stories from other people. Knowing that others are feeling the same (or similar) way keeps
all of us from feeling alone in our "new" lives.

HOW TO SHARE YOUR STORY
To submit your story please send it via e-mail to blog-at-familyofavet.com. Be sure to read
the following and include the details listed below:
- In the SUBJECT of your e-mail please include "MY STORY" so that it can lands in the
right place (with our wonderful volunteer who handles story submissions :) ). - The TITLE you would like for us to use for your story.
- The "byline" you would like to use if you don't want your name included (if you do not
include a byline, your full name will not be used only your initials. However, if you
would LIKE for your name to be used, please let us know that, too! (examples of a
"byline": "Wife of a hero", "Wounded Soldier", "Proud Veteran") - We will not include email or other contact information when your story is posted. If
you would like to have this information included (please use wisdom and understand
that while we *greatly* encourage heroes and families to connect with each other,
openly posting contact information on the Internet is generally a bad idea). - By e-mailing your story to the address above (blog-at-famliyofavet.com) you
are indicating that you understand it may be publicly shared on our blog,
website, or other outreach locations & projects benefiting the Veterans and
families served by Family Of a Vet. By sending your story, you are agreeing
