Throughout this site you will find many references to the Vietnam Veteran Wives (or VVW)
organization.  They are a non-profit organization which was started by Danna Hughes, the
wife of a Vietnam Veteran who had PTSD.  They are one of the few organizations
dedicated to helping veterans
AND family members.  The name is a little misleading - but
they help veterans and spouses from all wars!

I have a great deal of respect and gratitude for the VVW.  Danna turned her own
challenges into a driving passion to help vet families.  She has been key in helping our
family understand more about PTSD, secondary PTSD, and coping after combat is over.

If you are the spouse of a veteran, I HIGHLY recommend joining the VVW.  Membership is
only $20 / year and helps you connect with other vet spouses who are going through the
same experiences that you are.

I'm a member and have started volunteering with them as their "Graphics & Promotions
Coordinator" - a fancy title that says I'm pretty good at graphic design :).  With the growing
number of veterans coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan, the VVW is going to be
needed more than ever.  We, the spouses of veterans, need and deserve support!  So, if
you're at all interested in finding out more, please visit their website at:

If you're ready to jump right on the band wagon and join, CLICK HERE to be sent directly to
their membership page.  I promise you'll be glad that you did!!! (You can also follow the link
to make a donation to help support the VVW even if you're not quite ready to join.)
