Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project is one of the largest, most widely known, non-profit
organizations serving veterans who have been injured while serving in Iraq or
Afghanistan.  Their services are so varied that there isn't a way for us to give you a
complete run-down on one small page.  However, we will give you a brief overview.  (My
recommendation, though, is to spend an hour or so going through their website and finding
out what they offer that might be of help to you and your family!).

The purpose of the
Wounded Warrior Project:

  • To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service
    members.
  • To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
  • To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured
    service members.

The programs offered by the
Wounded Warrior Project are divided into four main
categories:

MIND which includes Family Support, Combat Stress Recovery Program, Restore via
Connect, and Project Odyssey.

BODY which includes Physical Health & Wellness, Outreach, Soldier Ride, and WP Packs

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT which includes TRACK, Transition Training Academy (TTA),
Warriors to Work,and Campus Services.

ENGAGEMENT which includes Benefits Services, Alumni, Connect, Peer Mentoring, Policy
& Government Affairs, and International Support.
